I'm a 17 year old virgin and I'm happy I've waited. I've been with my current boyfriend for 10 months and he understands, he's older and more experienced but realises that I'm not ready and I love him for that. I decided to wait for the right guy now I'm just waiting for the right time. My boyfriend has told me he'd wait forever. Whenever I'm ready. I'm glad about that. I don't think anyone should feel pressured into it and should wait untill they feel the time, place and person feels right. Thats what I'll be doing and i'm happy.”

i had my first time about 7 months ago when i was 16, i was with my boyfriend for just a month and we're still together now. i know people might think that maybe we should have waited for a bit, but i knew i was ready, i have no regrets to how it happened. it wasn't sore for me either, just a bit of a strange feeling, and it is normal for you to bleed for your first time apparantly, cause otherwise you haven't done it properly, which is what i told. but personally, i wouldnt let anyone pressure you, just do it when you feel ready and dont have to think about whether you think its right or not, and you'll know, but remember to always be safe, thats my advice in a nutshell.”

Ryan: I wonder if you tried to penetrate your partner too soon and whether your erection was fully hard. It is really important to arouse your partner, and, at the same time, yourself. Spend plenty of time in caressing each other, kissing, touching, massaging; then when you are both fully aroused, using plenty of lubrication, move towards penetration. It is a mistake for both of you to try for penetration too soon -- make sure you are ready for it or it can be a problem.”

I would just like to reassure people out there that you dont have to have sex in order to be in a serious relationship! Yes its hard, but if you and your partner have set boundaries, neither of you get carried away!!
I know in society today being a virgin past university seems stupid, but I'm 20 and proud to say i'm waiting.
Who cares if its not good? I'll have no one to compare it to so I won't really know if its bad and besides, we'd have plenty of time to experiment and explore within our marriage to make it better!!
waiting isn't weird, or stupid or unnatural: its perfectly fine and nothing to be ashamed of!!!!”

There is no need to rush into sex and regret it. Sex should be with someone you love and care about there is no need for people to sleep with the first person they meet to lose their virginity. I have a younger sister and was shoked to find out she lost her virginity at 13 i was disgusted but at the end of the day she is my sister and i think when she meets someone she loves and settles down she will regret losing her virginity at such a young age.”

Ryan, What i do is and what really works for me, put your penis at the entrance of her vagina. And start pushign it in little by little going in just a little harder each time. This may take a couple few minutes but it should work. Another things is its better if her legs are wide open as possible. And it'll be quite easier if she was wet, or if lube is used. Lubricant works very well, and remember use water based lubricants, oil based can cause infections. I am 16 years old and im speaking from expirience.”

Im doing the right thing, leaving it til his birhtday, that way we are in a legal age to do it. I occasionally give him a wank at times, and he did cum, when i finished giving him a wank i wash my hands with soap. Would this mean i will get pregnant?”

I'm 17, and i have friends aged from 14-23. All have had sex, but think its ' nice' that i haven't. Honestly, I'm not terrified to have sex, I just simply haven't met a person i thought was right for me. I've had a few boyfriends etc, but those relationships all ended as all they really wanted was sex, not commitment. I personally feel even 17 is a bit too young, i guess my feelings are kinda traditional. But i completely respect those who have had sex & those who haven't.
Also, to the comments which include personal embarrassment on appearance & size.. it doesn't matter at all, as long as you and 'yourself' are healthy and safe, nothing else matters. I do believe that the media has had a terrible effect on peoples views of sex & that anyone who hasn't had sex before the age of 16 is 'frigid' & anyone who has had sex full stop is a 'slut' or 'is easy'. Relationships don't always need sex, but if you are both very happy to stay committed and have sex, go ahead.
But do be careful in what your partner or another can say.. for example. A friend of mine was 'seeing' this guy a little older than her, ( she was 17, he was 21) After just under a month of seeing each other, they had sex. He convinced her that he shouldn't wear a condom & he dumped her a few days after (he currently was in a relationship with another, my friend wasn't aware). My friend isn't the dumb type, but it shows that using emotions can make people believe anything.”

I lost my virginity on my wedding night and even though it is unpopular it was the best decision I ever made. My friend (aged 15 at the time) told me that it hurt a lot and after that she didn't have sex again until she felt ready. I didn't pay attention to the usual pressure to have sex I didn't understand why virginity was to be treated like a disease that you need to get rid of as soon as possible. For me sex isn't just a bit of fun it's a way for two people who love each other to connect, I'm not saying that's how others should see it, it's just the way I do. He knew what to do so I wasn't worried, we took a shower together first and that relaxed me we experimented with techniques we talked about before our wedding and we used food as well. It was the most wonderful night of my life and even though waiting for marriage is not for everyone, I do recommend waiting for someone you truly care about and want to do it with.”

From a bisexual male point of view:
-i lost my virginity to a female when i was at the age of 18 with my 20 gf of only 1 month. My first time was a rather quick one for me. I wish i lost it to a more meaninful girl as she dumped after me finishing after 2 min.

I deliberately waited until I was married. It made it more special and I felt more comfortable and secure. Why? Because I knew that he loved me without the sex. To me, the first time was amazing. There was no pressure or stress that I might not see him again or that he would dump me on poor performance.
Befor ehand, we talked a lot about things like birth control, foreplay, our limits, that sort of thing. I think the main key to a great 'first time' is trust and communication.”

I waited until I was married until I lost my virginity, and I'm so glad I did. My wedding night was so memorable for so many reasons, and I haven't brought any baggage into my marriage with me. I was 26 when I got married, and I had enjoyed being single for all that time before without feeling like I was missing out on anything. I have no regrets, and my husband and I enjoy a really great sexual relationship. Not everybody is "doing it", it is possible to wait, and I'm so glad I did.”

When anyone looses their virginity its not going to be the best. In fact most people find that their first time is rubbish and a lot of girls find it painful. The best time for a girl to loose her virginity is when she is with someone she can trust and when she is really in the mood. This will lessen the discomfort of penetration, however it may not stop it all together. Also if a guy tells you girls "If you loved me you'd do it" then he doesn't love you as much as he's saying he does. Don't give in to pressure especially where sex is involved. If you feel uncomfortable about what he asks you to do then say no and stick to it. If you give in and do it for his sake you WILL regret it!!!”

I hoped this page would discuss how sex can be psychologically and socially harmful as the four programs discussed how it can cause biological diseases.
The video soon warns against underage and submissive sex but says readiness is a personal judgment. It concludes sex rouses lots of feelings and emotions and has consequences so advises careful thought. But it does not compare different outcomes then and later. And it presumes modern morality is adequate for preserving the culture on which all depend.
Religion requires virginity prior to marriage and a few posts under Your Questions are from those who respected this. Traditional societies rely on families to rear children who will sustain the culture when adult. And they persuade men to support the family by denigrating sex without it. This is hard for lads but avoids lasses feeling used. And it minimises the spread of venereal diseases.
Our society relies on its variously educated youths and adults being sensible about sexual behaviour and on government helping anyone in trouble. But marriage has become optional, many more children are unruly and some are abandoned. I suggest good sex education should seriously consider religious teaching as the outcome of small personal decisions can have big social consequences. Else too many children may lack adequate families to raise them well.”

i agree with rebecca , everyone makes sex out to be great , but when i experienced sex for the first time last year, it wasnt as good as i thought it would be i didnt have strong feelings for the boy + it was sore & uncomfortable for the first few minutes. all i have to say is only have sex if you love the person your with and feel comfortable to do it with your partner.”

Our culture relies on ‘educated’ youths and adults being sensible about sexual behaviour and on government picking up any pieces. But marriage is optional, some children are unruly and a few almost abandoned, usually boys. So I hoped this page would discuss how sex can be psychologically and socially harmful.
The video soon warns against underage and submissive sex but makes readiness a personal judgment. Later it notes lots of feelings and emotions may be roused and potential consequences may occur. But it does not consider how the character formed will affect later behaviour. I doubt this modern morality is adequate for the long term.
Traditional cultures rely on families to rear children who will sustain the culture when adult. And they persuade men to support the family by denying them sex without it. This is hard for lads but avoids lasses feeling used. Is something similar still necessary?”

The first time i had sex was with a man i had known very well since a young age. I was legal (by a week) and thought that having an older boyfriend with a car and money was great.
When we slept together he said he loved me and didnt want to pressure me into anything, but this wasnt the case. Needless to say it hurt and he dumped me a week later.
Thinking back i was very naive in what happened and he was only using me for sex. This was later confirmed when he was sent to prison for being a pedophile. I have had an STD test since (which didnt hurt)and was lucky as we werent careful with me being on the pill. Im ashamed of what happened now and want others to know a man really will wait if he loves you and dont be in a rush to sleep with anyone.I hurts and its nothing like in the films!”

i lost my virginity when i was 16. i had been with my boyfriend for 4 months and we knew that we were both ready. it was quite painful for me to begin with but it did ease after a little bit. we were both virgins and i think that made it really special. we're engaged now and have been together for a year and a half and i love him very much. the main thing that i want to say is make sure you use precautions, such as using a condom, because otherwise youll be worrying and it will spoil it.”

The first time is often pretty rubbish and over fast, and can be uncomfortable or painful for a girl. All the more reason to get it out of the way early and then have fun exploring yourself and sex. People make far too much of a deal about their first time, its just like all the other times except less fun.”

My first time in having sex hurt a lot!
i started crying.
i didnt know what to do so i started talking to my boyfriend, he just said dont worry you will get used to it. we carried on and then it got better and better through the night.
this was my first time in having a sexual intercourse.
we didnt use a condom and i didnt get pregnant!
i was really lucky here :)
i think my boyfriend is getting bored as we do the same things over and over.
do you have any suggestions on what would spruce it up a bit?
Thanks, :)”

I lost my virginity only last week, Im 16 and have been September 2008. Many friends have told me sex is amazing and changes everything. But when i lost my virginity, it wasnt as special as what everyone makes it out to be. A few minutes of pleasure and thats it. I lost my virginity to a guy who totally respects me and we can talk about things like pregnancy, contraception, periods. Ive been with him for a couple of months, no pressure at all. But you should never lose your virginity or have sex with someone just so that they dont split up with you. They arent worth it otherwise.”

hi i found your program very good very informative but could you imagine the impact on pc users if you your selves provided a no-nonsense porn filter that is free of charge to download direct from your site now wouldnt that be much more efective than beating round the bush from service providers if you want a job done you got to do it your self . oh yes just one more thing HIV aids was not mentioned in the show i think the biggest threat of all should not of failed to be spoken of kids need the full truth after all i think HIV is a little bit worse than a swollen penis or sores on your tounge . OK my last words are get that free pornfilter software on your site and start protecting tommorows generation now.”

I find it really sad how so many young people are having sex. The way society puts pressure on people is so bad. why doesn't anyone wait til marriage anymore. it seems like the world has lost all morality. I lost my virginity when i was in my late 20's and have only slept with one person my wife. Its a pity kids aren't bought up being taught the right stuff in school and by their parents.”

so, for all you virgins out there, be proud of your virginity, and when the right time comes along, you will know....
good luck, kiddos......
ps. .. by the way, i am very pretty woman and not ugly at all, just in case someone thinks that is why i am still a virgin...lol”

If it's your first time obviously it's a good idea to be having sex with someone you know and trust but it's also a good idea to not take things too seriously. Me and my girlfriend both recently lost our virginity but not taking it too seriously, having a bit of fun and getting used to the idea of sex made it so much easier. Your first time is probably not going to be great either so don't get too hung up if you don't think it was as good as it could of been, things will get better.
Be safe. Use a condom”
