I've always worried about the size of my labia since I became sexually active thanks to a thoughtless offhand comment from my first boyfriend. I doubt he even remembers, but I always think of it when I start a new relationship. It's just part of the general nervousness you feel about getting naked with anyone and you WILL get over it (or just not have sex forever which is not realistic!). Despite having inner lips which are quite dark and hang low, I've had a great sex life with various long-term partners over for over 15 years now. Yes, you will be anxious about how you look, but I guarantee that when you are carried away in the moment, the last thing either of you will be thinking about is how your labia look! I now realise it was my first boyfriend's lack of experience that made him mention it at all :-)”

Wow, this is unbelievable! Girls we are all meant to be different, shapes, sizes, colours, smells and tastes. There is no such thing as normal.
The reason porn is supposed to be watched by adults is because of the negative affect it can have on developing minds and self esteem. Most porn stars have had excessive surgery on all body parts, especially their breasts and vagina's. They shave, pluck, preen for hours they are also airbrushed to look the way they do, that is abnormal!
Why would any woman/girl want to disfigure themselves purely to make men happy?! What happened to equal rights and opportunities for women? I don't want to hear that we have surgery for ourselves (unless it is to correct severe disfigurement) The only reason anyone wants a boob job or to have surgery to reduce lip size is to please men/society and the media because for some weird reason they have said (for now) that a certain look is sexy! I wonder (for example)how long being hairless will be popular? If you look at porn mags from 70's/80's and early 90's 'hair' was deemed to be sexy!
I am not saying that pleasing a man in wrong, that is a natural desire but think about how you go about doing so. Confidence is far sexier than a female stressing about how hairy, big/small her boobs or labia is. As I said earlier all sizes are normal, confidence and self assurance is what makes someone sexy not to size of your nipples/breasts or the shape of your labia. To build confidence - work out, do something you love regularly, exercise your brain, think positively about yourself e.g. I am beautiful both inside and out, eat well and spend time with positive, supportive people. Also stop reading magazines and watching TV, both are destructive energy sappers or at least be very selective with what media you choose to watch e.g. I feel this is one programme that may have had a positive effect on people's confidence.

hi. To answer some of the peoples problems on the labia being to big. im 16 and had one labia bigger than the other that hung down past my outer lips. I went to the hospital and after a few months they agreed to give me surgery... The surgery was painful and i could not walk for 2 weeks and was extremely painful to sit down or shower in that area.Its been a month and a half since i had surgery and the labia is already growing back to the size it was, so there is not guarantee that surgery will fix it as in most cases it will grow back. I too am worried about boys seeing me down there and being disgusted but honestly i think if you found someone you love and trust it will not matter. Hope that helps at least one person!x”

This is a reply back to most of the girls on this website: our vaginas come in all different shapes and sizes and i really don't think anyone should be worried at all! I had the exact same problem with my inner lips and how they hang down quite alot, but after being on here and reading lots of the other girls comments i feel 'normal' =] also! never ever be pressured into having sex, my boyfriend asked me if i was ready to be sexually active with him and i told him i wasn't ready and he was perfectlly fine with it, if your partner loves you he will understand and be considerate =] Enjoy being yourself! xxxx”

:o Girls!! jeeeez everyone gets so worried about how they look. I do too! we all do because funnily enough were all different. If we were all the same it would be pretty boring huh? Ive read through the posts and alot of you have mentioned having large labia. Well so do i, and you know what? its normal. Im 16 and i used to be so worried about them and scared that boys wouldnt find it attractive. but lets face it vaginas arent exactly the most pretty of things anyway are they? I still get worried sometimes when i have a new sexual partner but nobody has ever said anything or even seemed to notice. So obviously EVERYONE gets self concious sometimes but thats just normal. nothing to worry about :)
Also a few of you have mentioned discharge.. seriousssssly if you didnt get it i would be pretty worried. its your bodys own way of cleaning itself. and you can get either a very small amount or alot and it all depends on what time of the month it is for you to what colour it is. as long as its not lumpy or something then its fine.
AND you guys have mentioned boobs.. my boobs are a 34c thats pretty average i think, but i have tiny tiny tiny nipples. haha. but i dont worry about it or care about it because nobody has the same boobs do they?
I think we all should calmmm down about being so self concious, love your body for what it is, i can garuntee you half the boys that you have sexual interaction with will have the same amount of anxiety about his own body. just enjoy yourself!”

Girls you all need to stop worrying, especially to everyone who hasnt reached adulthood i.e 18 because your still growing. Im nearly 22 and still notice my body changing but every woman is different. We all have different faces, hair colour, body shapes so of course we are going to be all shapes and sizes down there as well as our breasts. I lost my virginity at 15, to my boyfriend of the same age, we had been together about 6 months and we loved each other loads and that really makes a difference. When you love someone you dont look at them and want to critisize, you just accept them for who they are. And its normal for girls to be tight down below and have trouble getting a penis in because you have to practise just like anything else, life doesnt happen first time. A natural way to get rid of thrush is to use Live Yogurt, yes normal yogurt you buy in the super market but it has to be Live, meaning there are live cultures that chomp away the bad bacteria, and best of all you dont have to have the embarrassement of asking for thrush cream. Try putting some on a tampon and inserting it for a few hours each day, it worked for me :)”

For Claire, you were worried about you're areolas because they say "they are fairly small and light before pregnancy and get larger and darker during pregnancy", while this is true, it doesn't mean to say that everyone's are small to start with, mine are quite large too and when i got pregnant got darker and slightly larger too. Don't worry about them being large and about this meaning you're pregnant, if your's have always been large then that's just normal for you. Everybody's areola's vary in size from person to person, just like you're breasts do.”

This is for Kirsty aged 14. Don't worry about masterbating too much now, it's not going to badly affect you in the future. Around you're age I was the same and seemed to do it all the time, it's normal. You're only learning about you're own body and what feels good for you. This can help you in the future when you're old enough to be in a sexual relationship, at least you'll know what feels good and right for you and you can share that with you're partner. Hi I'm 25 years old & have gone through the same feelings as most of u girls regarding the way my body especially my vagina looks- however I now have a baby & to be totally honest with u no matter what it looks like now once u have children it will most certainly change again & I don't think surgery is the answer. I have had 3 partners since I was 18 & not one has had a complaint that my lips were too big or pubic hair was not right. Even though I felt self conscious & now my boyfriend loves every part of me the way it is. I have inverted nipples too which I've never ever told anyone & used to keep my top & bra on when I slept with my first 2 boyfriends cos I was embarrassed however eventually I met my current partner & I did the same until one day he said to me I love u no matter what u look like & I felt soo comfortable with him that I could be myself & he loves me for me, imperfections & all. We still have good sex & I am happy with my own body......I believe when you feel confident in your own skin you will know the right person you can trust to share your body with. As for shaving I shave it is a pain as I am generally a really hairy person, legs back, tummy, bikini line, pubes & even bum & also face! It is awful but I can't really change that so do shave every few days altho I try to leave it at least a week cos it can get sore the more regular u do it, I have waxed too but it takes too long for the hair to grow before u can get waxed so shaving is what most people do, try to exfoliate regularly & use tea tree oli cream or anything naturally unperfumed to minimise rashes & in grown hairs. Hope this helps abit cos I'm no way an expert but I know life is definitely too short & if a boy/man loves u he will accept u the way u are. My boyfriend has to put up with stubbly legs & bikini area most of the time & he doesn't mind as well as a hairy chin & upper lip- it's hard being a woman!! (If u still feel uncomfortable or worried please see a doctor as it could be anything maybe even something u were born with like my hairy problem, its called polycestic ovaries & I was prescribed a cream to use...so doctors can help & they see everything ur worried about regularly just look how many people are suffering with the same things & worse like me! So its not uncommon plus women have babies everyday so doctors see vaginas all the time).x”

Just a quick reply to your question. It IS normal to discharge everyday and the consistncy (how thick it is) and colour will vary depending on your menstrual cycle. You may notice that your dischage is thick and white at the beginning of the cycle turning clear and stringy towards the middle. This is all due to the hormonal balance of your body and to attempt to aid conception.

If your discharge becomes itchy and "cottage cheese" like though, go and see your doctor coz this is something called thrush. She willl give you a cream to use which will clear it up in no time. Hope this helps.”

I have been here quite a while, browsing the comments left and his cleared up a few insecurities about the shape of my labia etc, but im still quite worried about the extent of my pubic hair. this is the problem with porn - it makes young girls and women feel insecure about their bodies when they have no reason to be. the important thing to remember is that what we see in pornography and in men's magazines is NOT the norm, the norm is to come in many shapes, sizes and colours. diversity, its what makes us US right? if we did not have these articificial and unrealistic (and essentially surgey-created) looks shown in porn to compare ourselves to, we would not think that there was anything wrong our bodies! men should be taught that what they see as "normal" in porn is not what REAL women look like. if your sexual partner is critical of the way you look, the way your breasts or genitals or anything looks then maybe you should not be with that person? a partner should not make us feel like we are not good enough or that we are "strange" or "abnormal", they should make us feel confident and beautiful! we should feel that about ourselves anyway! it saddens me that so many girls, and guys for that matter, are losing confidence and being hurt emotionally in such ways due to sex, and due to the pressures of porn. hopefully soon girls will stop looking at porn for examples of what we "should" look like, and accept their own bodies for what they are - normal and beautiful and natural, and if a partner cannot see that aswell, then you don't need or want them! i have had men pull me down, make me lose all my self-confidence, make me feel like i don't live up to the women in magazines, over and over again. and it's taken quite a lot of time and quite a lot of tears to realise that i should not feel like i have to live up to ANYTHING, and the guy who finally makes me feel like i am already perfect will be the one who is worth my time. i hope other girls start to see this too... x”

Hi, I'm a guy, and I just wanted to tell all you girls who are fretting about what your labia/clitoris looks like - boys don't care. Even assuming any guy you have sex with even knows what a vagina looks like:
a) he won't notice any variation in size at all as we're just not tuned into that
b) it's nowhere near as different to "normal" (whatever that means) as you think it is
c) he'll be too concerned about what you think of him to notice, and concentrating on actually having sex!

I have always been conscious of my 'saggy' vagina and was so worried about having sex the first time, thinking that it was unsightly. I always wanted to have surgery. Every girl seems to have the same problem. Vagina lips being to large, it's really quite normal and boys don't mind it at all. Myself and at least one of my friends look a bit dangly down below and have a little bulge. Be happy with your body, it's beautiful.
Also, discharge.
As long as it's not amazingly lumpy or a dark yellow colour, your fine. Your vagina is just cleaning itself.

I think we should all stop worrying, you should only have sex with someone if you love them and if they love you they should respect every bit of you and your body. Please don't worry about what your vagina looks like. Everyone's are different sizes and not all gils look like the ones in porn films. I used to think mine looked weird too but the guys I have been with have never ever said anything about it. And I know my boyfriend doesn't have any complaints! Hope this helps with some of the questions:
When you get aroused, the vagina tends to 'loosen', and it will be able to 'accommodate' a penis better. If there is a problem with size, reciprocal oral is a perfectly valid alternative.
Some girls just develop slower than others. Speaking from a personal view and the view of the majority of guys I know, big breasts aren't a big deal. Pubic hair is another thing many girls worry about. From what I know, most guys prefer it shaven or waxed, but many don't really mind. It does however make oral easier if there is little hair, so that could be taken into consideration. Most guys don't worry too much about the 'lips', but if you are worried it may be worth seeing a sexual health professional.
As a last note on sex: if you're ready, go for it, if you're not, don't. Most guys develop earlier and have a much higher sex drive, but most will feign understanding if you're not ready :)”

Heya, im 15, i would just like to say that im so relieved i am not the only one with this labia problem. ive been worrying about it for ages now, i thought i was the only one that had 'big' labia, but now i realise its just as normal as anything else, i really couldnt care less. just because we are told that small lips, or even NO lips is right, because we see it in magazines or porn, doesnt mean it is. im happy with myself the way i am now. and i couldnt care less if a boy thinks my lips are too big, he can get over himself and grow up. all women are different, and i was considering this labia plasty thing that was on channel 4 a while ago, but now i realise that, what is the point in cutting outselves up 'down there' when theres nothing wrong with it in the first place!

I used to have the same problem, taking ibuprofen (a type of pain killer) and sitting with a hot water bottle on your stomach/lower back helps, I started when I was 12 and I used to feel awful every time I got my period but as I got older (I'm now 19) they got less painful and I usually don't feel any pain at all now, so don't worry, hopefully it'll go away for you too.”

First off, I've read quite a lot of the comments on this page and want to reiterate what a lot of people have said, that you should no way feel pressured into doing anything. I'm 19, and although I know all of my mates have had sex, I don't feel like I need to 'catch up' with them.
I have never gone further than kissing & a bit of upper body fondling, either because I didn't feel comfortable going any further, or because I was worried about pubic hair. My mates have always been pretty open and frank about almost everything, but pubic hair always seems to be something that doesn't get talked about, and it's difficult to find a suitable point in a conversation where you can ask "so what do you do about hair down there?"
I do a lot of exercise but always find excuses not to stay for a drink after a session because I don't feel comfortable with communal showers [even though they're all female] because I just don't know what's ok and what's not. I tried shaving, which wasn't that successful and was pretty itchy, and I tried hair removing creams, but they didn't take off all the hair and left it quite stubbly. I want to feel that when I meet the right guy I'll be happy to get my kit off, but I don't want him to be disgusted by my hair. Should I DIY or go to a proper beauty salon? My DIY attempts have always grown back a bit strange.”

I'm really saddened to read so many girls fearing that their vulvas look unattractive, that the lips of their vagina are too big.

Please listen to me girls: I'm a man, and I PREFER a woman with large labia. Seriously; and for a similar reason, I prefer women who only 'tidy up' their pubic hair. The 'tight' looking vaginal lips that you may think boys prefer actually looks to me (and many other men) like the vagina of a child - and pedophiles most men are NOT. Equally, women who've totally shaved off their pubic hair make their vulvas look like that of a child.

Normal men don't want their girlfriend or wife to have child-like genitals. It's for the same reason that men like full breasts on a woman - they indicate that she is full-grown, no longer a child!

Another thing to know is that boys get as nervous as girls when it comes to sex - more so in fact because while it's okay for a girl to be nervous and inexperienced, boys feel pressure to be dominant, confident, in-charge; and to be like that requires experience. So, they OFTEN lie, exaggerating their experience and pretending they aren't nervous. In fact, when a young man gets with you, he's probably DESPERATE not to look clumsy or foolish, and this means that the last thing on his mind is the way your vagina looks! He probably hasn't even seen many in real life, anyway! Also, he'll be very excited to be with you and he won't want to spoil his chances by making unpleasant comments about your body! He's more likely to say nothing, no matter what you look like, in his eagerness to get some experience, than say anything unpleasant.

You might care to know that in my life (I'm 41), I've never heard any of my friends talking about the sexual things they've done with their girlfriends and I certainly don't. So it's extremely unlikely, generally, for any man to pass judgement to others on the way your private parts look. Only the most crude and insensitive boy would ever do such a thing and you should know no to go with such boys in the first place. Also, don't believe everything your girlfriends may tell you boys have said because, as I've said, guys are prone to feeling a need to brag and lie in order to make themselves feel 'big', 'cool' or popular. They don't expect the girl he's trying to impress, or who might overhear him, to pass it on to others; yet I'm sure you know that girls can be very spiteful towards other girls in what the say.

Finally, in the U.K., it is ILLEGAL for anyone to have sex under the age of 16. So all you girls out there need to be aware that unless you are raped, it is YOU who determines whether you break the law by having sex at the young age at which so many of you here are having it. You want to remember that no matter how excited you may be feeling, sex can result in you becoming PREGNANT (even if you are using contraceptives). Are you ready for rearing a baby for at least the next 16 years? Do you realise that many men won’t want you if you’ve got another man’s child? Babies are best conceived not by accident, but on purpose, within marriage or at least a solid, stable relationship, when the money is there to provide for the child. Don’t think that an abortion is an easy option to take either. I’ve never heard of a woman who wasn’t deeply emotionally affected by having an abortion; and the procedure is not without danger to the woman’s health.
Also, don’t forget that sex can also cause serious diseases that could prevent you from ever having children. ”

I'm 27 and have had 20 sexual partners, male and female. They have shown a wide variety of attitudes, respectful and not, gentle and rough. Many of the young men were convinced by porn and FHM etc that all girls should want sexual activity some, most or all of the time, rough sex, anal sex, bizarre toys and contraptions, threesomes and the like from an early age and without a committed relationship. My virginity was wasted on a virgin guy who was too scared to do his girlfriend and used me as a test run; he took advantage of teenage low self-esteem and the result was worthless and demeaning.
Experiences wonderful through to downright abusive have taught me the following: Your desire to do anything depends on your physical, emotional, mental and spiritual attraction to the other human being(s) you are with, and to have sex without respect, arousal or any sense of connection is a waste of life... And when you are respected, respecting, and attracted on all levels it is the most wonderful, humbling and connected experience one could hope to have with any living being.
Your body is a temple and your 'down below' does the same job as a flower. It should be respected and treated as one. It's yours and a precious part of your personality. Petals (lips) come in all shapes, colours and sizes, clits large and small, close to or far from the vagina. Hair fine, thin, thick, dark, light, on the bum, off the bum, in the cracks and all about. Everyone's tastes are different about grooming - I love beards and chest hair, my friend would wax her man from top to toe if she had the chance - so someone will agree with you no matter what you choose as long as you care about and respect yourself. Amounts, colour, smell and taste may change with your hormonal cycle, and only you can know what is normal for you. Strong smelling, itching, burning, obvious discolouration means ask a doctor. Whatever the problem, doctors have seen it all before and will respect your body because they know how it works. Taste your own before you expect anyone else to; it will help you know what is normal for you and you'll know what you're asking (that goes for guys too) Sexual arousal brings blood flow to your vulva swelling your lips and the area should be dripping wet with clearish slippy fluid from vagina outwards before you let anyone touch you there (foreplay helps, guys!) Anything that involves pain, causes non-menstrual bleeding or bruising or tears your pereneum (between your vagina and anus) is too rough and probably a result of not being turned on/wet enough and any person who assumes you are enjoying it or orders you to enjoy it is abusing you, so speak up! ( I've been left unable to walk properly before now by a guy who thought fingering should resemble punching someone repeatedly). Someone on here described a burning when you pee sensation; this could be cystitis (inflamed urethra) and is fairly common after rough sex, and can be treated by drinking cranberry juice. It could be friction burn from dry sex, or could also be latex allergy from using condoms, lube or rubber toys. Latex free condoms and silicone lube can solve this. Lube (spit or the bottled variety) is no replacement for having been turned on in the first place! It is normal for some or all sexual fluids to come out of you after sex. When you reach a really deep state of arousal the muscles deep inside you relax and the ones at the entrance to you vagina contact, making a sort of bottle shape to help keep some semen inside you. Regular sex with one person programs you psychologically to want to stay with them, whether they are the right person for you or not. It gives us women a hormonal rush designed to make us commit and raise babies in a stable environment, and it can be very easy to find this linked to the wrong person in the age of contraception. You may not be aware it has even been happening. If in any emotional doubt, put your sex life on pause, let you brain correct its chemistry and then decide. Men come in all shapes and sizes too, from the size of your thumb to 7 inches and up, thin, fat, wide at the bottom or the top, mushroom shaped, bending one way, twisted or with frills on, and all are beautiful in their own way. Respect them - you may find them wierd now - it is only when you love a man and accept his being you will find the true beauty in his penis. Choose the penis that feels right for you. Some people feel a little pain when their hymen breaks but regularly painful sex even when you're really turned on might just mean you are not the optimum shape for each other. Above all, communication is the key and if your partner is too immature to talk it through they're probably too immature to understand the consequences of their actions so don't deserve to have their way with you. I'm a mum to two teenage daughters and after watching your programme I'm worried that they will think they are not normal. This whole problem has come about, in my view, because of the fashion for shaving and waxing. Of course girls are going to notice protuding parts more when they are surrounded by bare skin. Adult women do have larger labia. It is completely NORMAL. In encouraging operations are we not supporting the mutilation of women that happens in less developed countries rather than trying to stop it? I think that you should be discouraging girls from waxing down below and encouraging them to think that they are far more beautiful staying as nature intended!”

i have the same problem and it is normal ive heard of one of my mates that she had it and she went to her GP and they said that it was because she was too clean.
the only reason you have discharge is because it cleans your vigina thats all.
if you seriously need to get rid of the discharge go to your doctor to see what they can do to help get rid of it i am.
i know it is embarrousing but the quicker you go and get it seen to the quicker the problem will go away

I have had the exact same problems as you after being on the implant, my cervix seems closer and even a little lumpy.

I have had an extremely weak bladder and my periods are going crazy.

I'm really worried it is going to affect my fertility.

My doctor was not very forthcoming with information.

I am going to get my implant removed next week and hopefuly I will get some more information.
Have you had any further problems or information from your doctor? I am really worried that it is some sort of side effect.

I had a labia reduction operation in June as I really hated the way my vagina looked. My labia were very large and dark in colour. I really regret the operation now as it didn't go according to plan. One side looks great but the stitches didn't hold on the other side so it now looks very odd. I would advise anyone NOT to have surgery, just look at the photos on the private parts section of this site. If I had seen these photos before my op I might not have had it. Emma, if you have not had sex the likelihood of you having cervical cancer is so low they don't even screen virgin girls..you have no need to worry, if you are going, there are virgin sized speculums to make it as comfortable as possible...

of course girls do get hair between their bums.

This really has given me a confidence boost tbh. For about a year now i have been so self conscious about my vagina, like some of you others one bit is longer than the other and the end is slightly darker than the rest. what is normal?
we only start to worry what we look like becasue of these celebs.
most girls would do any thing to "fit in" having boobs jobs going on diet. and what for just to look like ever one esle.
ever one has seen porn films and we all know its not like that at all. it should be about you and your partner and if he/she does say any thing like your too large go on a diet is he/she really worth being with, to me any one who trys to change you is the one witch has the problum.

I also had lumps on my vagina but after a visit to the doctors found that these were caused by ingrown hairs on the vagina. I was advised to exfoliate before shaving and a few days after and it stopped the lumps. They also sell sprays and creams in the hair removal section of some shops that can help stop these bumps.”

hi, having read a few of these comments i would just like to give some personal advice to these girls. when you come to having sex for the first time you should not feel the need to worry about your labia or shape or size of any of your other genitalia. if you are with the right person then they will not mind at allwhat shape or size you are.
it is quite upsetting to think that there is already a stereotype way of thinking at such a young age as to how you genitals should look. when i was younger it was concern about being to fat or your boobs being to small. as a decent ize 10-12 with alot of loose flabby bits and a small chest i know that it can cause concern for you. however snce i got with my current partner of over 4 years i have grown to love my body and my shape as it is my own unique shape. i am not fitting into the sereotype of having to look thin. i think you are all right to know your genital area well so you can tell if there is any changes in them(lumos etc) but i also feel you should relax and learn to love your body as it is. that way otherswill admire it too. surgery is such a dramatic way to go and it doesnt always turn out the way you would expect.”

I'm 15 and feel that I'm emotionally ready for sex, but I am concerned about the aftermath of what could happen, or if a condom was to split or slip off during sex, and becoming pregnant. I wouldnt be able to tell from my period pattern either, because I have sometimes missed a few months out, plus I am not on the pill. Is it normal to have a period one month, then miss one out completely the next? Also, is it likely to have an orgasm during your first time of sex? hello everyone, i am currently watching the show, and am now in the kegal exercises, and changes after pregnancy, i am more worried about the changes before pregnacy. i am 19 and have been with my boyfriend for three years i had been having sex a long time before that and with many partners, its not until recently i have been experience alot of pain during sex, the cervical opening and the neck is moving closer and closer about an inch and a half away from the opening to my vagina and can put my finger all around, i am also constantly wetting my self when i come from sitting position and waking up very wet,like urine. i have been to the doctors complaining of these symptoms and have been tested for chlamydia, thrush, and another one and all came back clean, i have also has cyctitis relief, my GP says the movement of my cervix is normal, and wont do anything about my symptoms. this movement does not feel normal and the pain is wrecking my sex life! at first i thought it was the affect of having the implant taken out because i have not had a proper period since taking it out after 2 years of constant bleeding, and now i don't know what to think or what to do about it.”

I went to a sexual health clinic as i had lumps around my vagina and was worried that these were genital warts i found out that they were actually skin tags which can be mistaken for warts and visa versa i had them removed it was slightly painful but in long run it was worth it so if you do have lumps down there then dont be shy to get them checked out like i was and left them for a year they just got bigger and in some cases it could be warts so better to be safe than sorry .”

I havnt surfed the site completely but wanted to add a piece on what I have been through. When I was growing up from 12 - 18 I developed what was the start of female breasts. This is called gaenocomastia in men. This was diagnosed when I was 19 as Kleinfelters syndrome. This condition occurs when men have the chromosomes in a male are XXY instead of XY. There are many side effects of this condition including learning difficulites, muscle and bone reduction, infertility and breast growth. To reduce the effects I have been put on Testosterone suppliments as my body does not make enough. I had breast reduction and currently have a three monthly injection of testosterone. The only other side effect I have is infertility. My height has not been affected by this as I am 6'5" and I have no learning difficulties. Different side effects occur in different people. I thought I would post my experience as I had trouble in high school with bullying from it and want to advise others if they have this problem.”

So i went to my gp and she referred me to the hospital who said I was normal.. I've read all the concerns about girls being worried about the size of their inner labia being one side bigger than the other, but mine are exactly the same. So thats one thing I'm not worried about anymore. However, I sort of feel that it is physically impossible for me to have sex, because I can only just fit one finger into my vagina, let alone a penis. I know this may have something to do with my hymen, but mine doesnt feel like 'a thin piece of skin' instead it feels quite thick and elastic and would probably have to be cut! Which is the last thing I want! I don't think I have one straight forward hole, but instead 'several pathways'. It's hard to explain but I really dont think I'm normal, especially as sex seems to be so easy for everyone else, physically.”
